National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme

Accident Database

BMC / ABC Accident Reporting Database

The BMC / ABC Accident Reporting Database is a joint initiative between The British Mountaineering Council (BMC) and the ABC. The database is an online system that facilitates the reporting of accidents occurring in climbing walls or other artificial climbing structures. All climbing walls whether ABC members or otherwise are encouraged to participate in the scheme.

It is hoped that the long-term collection of data at a National level will provide crucial information that will assist in maintaining and improving safety standards across the industry. It is a requirement of membership that all ABC member walls participate in the scheme.

Any climbing wall or activity centre that wishes to participate should contact the BMC Climbing Walls Officer to obtain the authorisation code and password.
